Can these classics still be found today?
Hello, guys! Help out a fellow adventure gamer from Montreal, Canada by telling him if the following games can be found for sale today (other than on Ebay). Sorry if it's a popular question, but I checked the sticky and it wasn't there.
The games have to be playable on Windows XP, or it has to be possible to make them playable on that platform. Also, if they're easier to get in the UK, let me know, as I have a brother there I could make Christmas gift suggestions to. The Gabriel Knight series The first Broken Sword game Zork Nemesis, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (where the ... did I lose my CD? ) The Tex Murphy games Thanks to anyone who can help. |

You might try hitting thrift stores (some call them "second-hand" shops) and pawn shops to find such relatively popular games. That's where I get almost all of my games, as well as all of my computers.

Also consider online auction sites, like eBay.

Yea, GK2 and GK3 work fine but GK1 crashes quite often, so I always play it in a dosbox. Also cursors look better in a dos version

Yeh they will work, you can get really good xp launchers off a website that i have somewhere on my favourites. Lets you run the games from the harddrive as well.
Also, if you buy broken sword you may as well get the broken sword dvd...it includes broken sword 1 and two for a fiver, is still made by sold out, and i even think they have included scumm vm(which i would use anyway, my girlfriend used this method and its better than using the original cd's etc) |

if you want to run GK1 in XP use a patch from this website http://vogons.zetafleet.com/gkpatches/ it totally changes the installation package, and it runs a treat too, no glitches whatsoever.

Using DoxBox and DeFend as a front end you can run all of them on XP fine, and use ScumV for the ones that are supported, yes indeedee. I have them all on one of my research library machines and it is an XP and runs them fine.
Enjoy, yes they are all still available, and the suggestions about secone hand store are good, and in a pinch a dealer can find them for you, check them out first, if you search on line and make sure you use a reputable dealer that won't send you a Chinese Imprint or something like that. Cheers and have fun.

Broken Sword 1 and 2 are both available from Sold Out -- I know, 'cos I have them! And they both seem to run fine on XP.
Gabriel Knight turns up fairly often on eBay. The first one seems to be the rarest. |

If there is no place to buy it, the best way is to find it in P2P networks.
