Happy Holloween to Everyone! Scare it Up! Today's scary pick is from one of my favorite series that had me freaked out while playing when I was just 14 years old. Alone in the Dark 3.

I never played this one, but it got some very good reviews at the time.
I always found the Alone in the Dark games too hard, though. |

I´ve tried some Alone in the Dark, but couldn´t stand the blocky graphics and the 3d modelling!

I've only played AITD 1 & 2 and without a walkthrough they were way too hard for me. Still good though.
I recently picked up AITD 4 in a bargain bin, but haven't tried it yet. |

The Alone in the Dark series (1-3) was creepy. I remember the first game scared me so much, I was never able to beat it.

For some reason, first time I played Alone in the Dark 1 (probably about 4-5 years ago) I played it straight through with a walkthrough. It was good fun though, and really scary!

I've never played Alone in the dark 3, but the first two games are still some of my most favourite games. They are some of the very few games actually that I'm still going to keep on my shelf now that I moved.
The fourt AitD was so bad...

It lacked everything that made AitD originally so awesome. The athmosphere, the gameplay, the lovecraftian feel, and the good old moustached gentleman Edward Carnby as the protagonist.
This upcoming fifth one is heading straight toward the same route as the fourth one, based on what I've heard and seen about it.

It does? I've only played like 30 min into the game and I almost crapped my pants due to the atmosphere. I didn't play as Carnby though...

AITD 4 is not that bad as Kolzig makes it look like. It's not a masterpiece but it's fine. And I bet AOTD 5 will be one hell of a ride.

I loved the AitD series! The music & sfx in the games are really good and effectively help create a creepy atmosphere. The intro and begin sequence from AitD 1 really creeped me out the first time I played the game. Till this day, it's one of my favorite gaming moments...
Can't wait for AitD 5; that game looks amazing and they promised to return to the roots of the old series. Screenshots: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/al...reenindex.html

I remember being jealous of my friend who had the first AitD... but he was frustrated by books which killed him randomly, or something to that effect. It was long ago. It DID look scary, though...!
