Hey guys, do you consider Indigo Prophecy an adventure game, or just some interactive movie? :)

i think in this case you would have to decide for yourself (see my problems along this vein below). though perhaps having other people's input could help - having never played that one, i don't know what to tell you.

i do have a question or two: Quest for Glory 1: So You Want to be a Hero is more of an early RPG than an adventure game, however i would still rate it rather high in my list of adventure games. and i don't really want to even include TLJ2: Dreamfall as an adventure game as it really was more of interactive movie (going from cut scene to cut scene cue without at least a puzzle in between is not my idea of fun). even the developer didn't want to characterize the game... however, if it was on this adventure game list, it would be low on the spectrum (beautiful or not).

any thoughts?


(oh and do underground games count?)

I'd include them both, if only for the pragmatic reason that so many people who played them do call them adventures (even if you disagree), that you excluding them would needlessly skew the results.

It was established by Trumgottist that they don't. (Some people disobeyed this rule, though.)

I must add that I find none of these game "bad". Just not as good as the ones I find "good". Well ok, Prisoner of Ice and Gabriel Knight 2 is teh suxxors, but apart from them no game is "bad" imho.

WOOOOOW, at last!!! Someone who played Bioforge and placed it so high. You made me kinda happy :)

It's a great game :D When I get my new computer I'm gonna replay (for the first time since it retailed) it in DOSBox. My current laptop doesn't allow for that... :-(

Glad to hear that :) I always love to read through the logbooks (even though i read them thousand times :) ), when those prisoners describe their days in the cells. Its really depressing...
