Default How are you going to pay for Sam&Max?

Telltale just announced its pricing policy for snm2:

1) Individual episodes: $8.95
2) The entire season: $34.95
3) Gametap subscription: $9.95/month

There will be six episodes. Buying the entire season will allow you to download each episode as it's out, an also get a boxed version of the entire season just for the shipping fees.

So, how are you going to pay for Sam&Max?

There's no reason to wait. If you order the season, you can play them as they're released and then pick up the CD version for only shipping cost at season's end.

More details in the news item. Or at Telltale's site, of course.

I might just do, but how would they know if I've purchaced them all?

Interesting poll. I'll be very susprised if anybody votes for option 1, though. If somebody already knows they'll buy all episodes, why would they pay almost 20 dollars more (6x9=54 instead of 35)?

Myself, I'd be leaning towards the cautious and cheap option of ordering the full season, but only after, say, two episodes are released and well-received - but did Telltale reveal how long will the option to preorder last? And are there demos planned?

Because you'll have already plunked down your $35 up front.

Personally, I was planning on trading some shiny beads for them, but that wasn't one of the options.

As a gametap subscriber, I'm gonna' sit back, put my feat up and play them as launched. Eventually, I'll buy the season so I can play them without gametap.

Will I need to connect to Telltale when I buy them on CD?

I'm assuming it will work just as the Bone CD versions have - not that I've had to use my actual CD versions of the games yet. The downloaded version you're also entitled to with that purchase has been enough for me so far.

Having said that, it's just occured to me I've just upgraded my PC recently, so I'll need to get a new activation code to run the downloaded one I still have installed.

I'll buy the whole damn set immediately.
Good to know about the bundle cd, that it's only shipping & handling, but knowing you Americans, it's at least $14.95 to ship to Finland...

But I have to say that price IS AFFORDABLE! THANK YOU TELLTALE!

I don't think Telltale has answered that either way.

That's for downloadable versions, so no reason for extra cost for Europeans. Meaning: yes.

I think I remember someone official saying awhile ago that there will be a demo, but you know that I have a very bad memory about these things.

Actually, I recall an interview where Dan said there probably would not be a demo (I guess because the game is so short).

I'm already a Gametap subscriber so I'll be enjoying the premieres of each episode, but I also intend to purchase the season deal from Telltale as soon as I can. Hey, I'm a Sam & Max fan!

I will be buying the whole season. My reason for buying the whole season, is that I can get the season on cd. Then I can sell the cd on eBay to someone who hasn't (or doesn't want to but the game from Telltale and wants it on CD first). That way, I can recoup most of the cost of buying sam and max!

Well yeah, I personally don't care if there is a demo or not. Because I know that I will be buying these.

Sam&Max is certified as a good enough game for me to buy.

I'll be buying episodes as they run, not the whole season. The reason being that I probably won't have a PC by the time the season finishes.

I think most people here know my answer.

And to be annoying yet one more time, Gametap is now $6.95-$9.95 (depending on your subscription plan), so saying Gametap is $9.95/month is correct in one sense, but it's not the only price you can pay.

I apologize for mentioning Gametap yet again.
