Default Would you give 50 Euros for BS4: Angel of Death?

From various posts in the AG forum I came to a conclusion that BS4 was made on a tight budget. Usually tight budget games are retailing around 30 Euros. I was shocked to find BS4 retailing at the hefty price of 50 Euros. Inmo this is too far and not what I was expecting from a game with low production values therefore I am not touching the game. I think some people try to get richer here. Definitely not a buy. I mean first class so called AAA titles are retailing around 40 euros and for sure BS4 is not Oblivion...

How do people feel about the price tag? Maybe I am the one at the wrong side of the boat here…

Play.com sell BS4 for £17.99 = ~ 27 Euros. That includes P+P btw.

Amazon sell it for exactly the same price including postage too.

HTH?

Where? It's currently £17.99 at Amazon.co.uk. I think it was a bit more when I pre-ordered, but not as much as €50.

I am pretty sure it says 50 Euros... Dunno if this is regional pricing or global but no matter how many times I look at it, it says 50 Euros. For now this is the only shop that has BS 4 available in my little wackoland country but I believe if and when the other game retailers have it the price will probably be the same.

Yes, it is being released at full price. And yes, I think that that may be a mistake. Search around, though, and there are cheaper versions to be found - such as the ones at Play.com, Amazon.co.uk or dvd.co.uk, and at least one of those will ship to Europe for free, I believe.

There are always people preying to sell games at 50 EUR, just buy your games online and save money

The store I was planning to purchase the game will ask 49,99€ for it. I am certain Broken Sword 3 - which I bought in the same store - did not cost that much.
To compare that same store asked 49,99€ for the Age of Empires III Collector's Pack, which included the game, two posters, the making of DVD, the soundtrack, a figurine, a full-colour manual and a hardcover book with the concept art for the game.

Don't buy it in Fnac, just order from play.com. Mine was posted yesterday for 18£.

Yes I would, in a heartbeat. Though I would feel it's a slightly strange price.

Production values have no bearing on purchase cost.

BS4 might have a lower budget than say Half Life 2 but it doesn't mean they can't charge full price for it if they want to .

The decision on value for money is of course yours.

Sure they could even charge for as much as 100 Euro if they want to but personally from my experience the less the money a studio gets to produce the game the lower the price (usually) is. Of course exceptions can be found for the above rule but still the price is pretty high by me. I mean the "official" price because as people already said you can find it cheaper through various online shops.
