Yup, that's Sordid from Simon 1 (played on the MT-32).

01. Attis (King's Quest VII) [Psychocandy]
02.
03.
04.
05. Emily Ketch (Broken Sword 2) [Dale Baldwin]
06. Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun (Toonstruck) [Shany]
07.
08. Hamilton Temple (The 7th Guest) [ollie]
09. ??? (Leisure Suit Larry 5) [Ledz]
10. Jacob MacAllen (The Longest Journey) [ATMachine, Shany]
11. Kalalau (Leisure Suit Larry 2) [Shany]
12. Lucas Kane (Fahrenheit) [AFGNCAAP]
13. Mandible (Loom) [ATMachine]
14.
15.
16. Penelope (Freddy Pharkas, Frontier Pharmacist) [ollie, Shany]
17. Queen Katherine (The Legend of Kyrandia) [ollie]
18. René Rottingham (The Curse of Monkey Island) [ATMachine]
19. Sordid (Simon the Sorcerer) [Shany]
20.
21. Uhura (Quest for Glory 3) [ATMachine]
22.
23.
24. Xqwzts (Leisure Suit Larry7) [Shany]
25. Yvette Delacroix (The Dagger of Amon Ra) [ollie]
26. Zak (Keepsake) [ollie, Shany]

OK, I guess a few hints might be in order:

02. Very alliterative character.
03. I guess you haven't played the game; you'd recognize it otherwise.
04. Vaguely related to #5.
07. Sings O Sole Mio at the right time of the year
14. I wanted to use a few games we haven't seen in that thread before, but this one is hard (the track; the game itself is well-known). I wanted to use a better version from the end cutscene, but there was speech all over it, so I had to rely on that one from the last puzzle.
15. The game's theme plays at the beginning of the extract. And, when you think about it, there aren't that many tracks that could have fitted here.
20. To quote an awful Italian band from a few years ago: "I have a girlfriend, and she is so blue."
22. Sorry for the bad quality; my computer had trouble keeping up with both DOSBox and recording.
23. That one is evil, and I kinda cheated. But, hey, it's almost October 17th, so why not?

Argh I can't place that LSL5 track!! It's making me crazy! (I guess it's payback for making you crazy with the Torin's Passage track )

I think 15 is from Sherlock Holmes and the Serrated Scalpel again...

Yup, that's right. And I'll let you simmer some more for the moment.

(though, I don't know if you've seen it, but I've given a rather big hint earlier in the thread that might help you place those two tracks)

Certainly not! (and it's more alliterative than that)

Except that we've already established that #15 was from The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes.

Hey folks,

It's probably fitting my first post here is in a music thread. I'm Spikey (aka Alistair), who runs the Sierra music website Sierra Music Central (SMC) with Jeysie.

Actually, it's probably unfair I post in this thread, since I know just about every Sierra track ever, but I guess on the flip side I know very little adventure game music outside of Sierra (though, my wife's played TLJ/Syberia/Myst series/etc).

Anyways, this seems a fun forum to visit.

OK. Onto business:

Heh, that KQ7 SC-55 track hit me right away.

Missing ones:

02. Some game I haven't played
03. Some other game I haven't played, reminds me of Inca, though
04. Something recorded from a Sound Canvas SC-55 (GM device), don't know what though
09. Pretty clearly Inspector Desmond's Theme from LSL5, recorded from a MT-32
20. Almost like something from, what's it called, Chewy Esc from F5. Don't think so though.
22. Haven't played.
23. Another SC-55 recording. Again, doubt I've played the game.

Ah well. I bet most people here are the same- played a lot of Sierra classics but not too many others.

Still, I look forward to the next medley where I guess from the start.

Regards,
- Spike

And yet it's not from Inca, nor anything by Charles Callet.

Yup.

Older than that.

For the record, Charles Callet didn't compose Inca 1 or 2's soundtracks. That honour goes to Gilles Douieb. However, he *did* compose the third unpopular game, "The Last Dynasty".

And, I have very limited adventure game music knowledge outside Sierra (as in, I need to play LucasArts games), so I don't know the others- when I started my website, my goal sort of became to play all the Sierra games so I could record and understand the music, whereas if I played LA games I'd prolly want to do those . Though, my website produces more than Sierra CD's, I'm working on Kyrandia 1 now.
My wife will check 'em out later 'cause she's played a lot of adventure games.

But, I've played a lot of RPG games lately, so if I was at a RPG forum I'd probably guess a ton.

Serves me right for not completely reading the credits on Mobygames.

Actually, it's possible that the Kyrandia track I used here was from the early version of your CD you made some time ago. Maybe. I know it was sitting on my hard drive, and I didn't record it myself, so it might be.

Hey, I just noticed you're from gay Paree. Does that mean they played the song "Inca People" on radio stations where you are?
Plus, did you ever buy the Inca series?

Gimme a sec. Most of the tracks from Kyrandia floating 'round the Web are either my old, older or newer recordings or someone else's (not many of those, though).

Almost positive that the track "Mother" was never recorded by anyone else.

<checks>

Yeah, it sounds like it is my 2004 recording. I congratulate you on your good taste.

I didn't know there was song from Inca that was supposed to have been played on the radio. And I wouldn't have recognized it anyway, having never played the Inca games.

Oh, and I'll be posting the answers to the missing ones later today.

Aw. How did I miss Danielle Piermont? I wonder if I ever actually *got* that far during the playthrough... (that was the first time I played the game with sound and music... the very first few times I played the game, pre-SCUMMVM, I couldn't get the sound/music to work at all. )

Peace & Luv, Liz

Back in the day, the vocal track from Inca 1, "Inca People" was a radio hit (in France only) for a while. And I can see why- It's kind of catchy. If not totally bizarre like the games.

Cool contest, guys/gals.

I've noticed how beautiful is the music you selected from Dune (unfortunately I never played it). Is it extracted from the soundtrack audio cd which was released a while ago?

I would like to post another medley soon. I hope to find enough time, which I just don't have right now. So far I have only written the potential games' tracks to mix...

I've never been a big fan of the game, but I replay it from time to time (Ninth forced me to a few months ago). I wish Infogrames hadn't limited themselves to composing for the AdLib for so long, as it's such a limited device (then again, Cryo did great things with it in Dune).

Yes, it's from the CD (Dune: A spice opera), though the in-game music sounds extremely good too. One of my favourite games, with definitely one of the best atmospheres ever.

If the overall quality is the same of the track you chose, it must be very very good.

Unfortunately looks like the cd is out of print since a long time, so the only chance to obtain a copy of it is to hope that it will pop up on ebay some time in the future...

IIRC, I think Dune's composer was the one encouraging people to illegally download the soundtrack CD, since the company refused to sell it any more.
