Default Giveaway: The Space Bar (1997)

Steve Meretzky... one of the great Infocom Implementors, need I say more? There's no review at AG unfortunately, but you can read the ones at Quandary or JA. It's a humorous and hard(!) adventure. Someone once suggested it would be a good choice for a community playthrough and I support that idea one hundred percent.

I got myself a boxed copy, I adore the look of those crazy aliens that much, and I'm giving away my unboxed copy. It's a first-person adventure with great graphics. Hey, all you Myst-haters out there, don't assume you have to give every single first-person game a wide berth, because this one is as far removed from Myst as possible.

The game comes on 6 CDs in excellent condition: 3 for the PC and 3 for the Mac + small manual. I could give them away separately if anyone is interested in the Mac CDs. Free shipping anywhere in the world.

If you're interested, post here in the next two or three days.

Ooh! Ooh! Me! Me!

I read about this game in a magazine back when it came out, thought it sounded cool, but never bothered to track down a copy and play it. Guess now might be my chance.

(And by the way, I'm PC-only.)

I'm interested. Have seen this game mentioned around a long time ago, always wanted to play, but have never seen a copy anywhere...

Edit:
(PC version please)

Hi Fienepien

This is a wonderful thing too do. I would like to be entered in the contest.
I'd be interested in both. I use a pc and my hubby uses a mac. I'm trying to get him into games. Hope if I win this will work.

I'm interested in the MAC cd's, so it would be awesome to give those away seperately.

I'm probably the person who said they'd love to do a playthrough of it... aside from the small fact that Fienepien and Lucien are the only people aside from myself that I've heard own/have played it. A game that deserves more recognition, IMHO.

Peace & Luv, Liz

I played this game years ago and loved it (with the small exception of the timed insect level maze). Don't put me in the hat because I think somewhere deep in my parents' basement I could find my copy, but I just wanted to chime in and say that this game was amazing!

I've been looking to trade this over GameTZ, but I haven't had the luck to find anyone willing to ship to Uruguay. I'm willing to pay for the shipping costs to Uruguay, or split them with you if you'd like.

I'm really only interested in the PC discs as I don't have a Mac, so if I win and someone else wants them they can have them.

I actually own this game. I picked it up on eBay. I've just never gotten around to playing it. Although in searching the forums I found a thread in which the biggest complaint was the 'tick' system. Every action you take, time goes down on the clock and if you take too long, you're done.

That's true for time spent in the bar, not for the entire game.
