Well, i'm not really that excited about the game, but beacause nothing interesting was released recently, I think i'm going to give it a try. The idea is not bad at all.

Isn't there already a puzzle game named Safecracker? Isn't Traitor's gate a spiritual sequel to it as well?

The original Safecracker is an old Quicktime game from 1997. Dreamcatcher released it in North America in 2000. It seems they have removed it from their website. It used to be at the URL that now shows the new game.

I like the box art. Simple but original.
It should be a puzzle itself opening it |

This is one I'll definitely buy a.s.a.p.. Not enough puzzle adventures on the market.
P.S. I hate this use of the term "goes gold". Can we please use regular English to announce a new release? |

I love the concept, the idea of cracking safes, and Khoeps has proven itself to be one of the most reliable developers for adventure games nowadays. This one's a buy.

I'd not heard of this before, thanks!
Still, there's something about those in-game screenshots I don't like - but I can't decide what it is. I can't deny I'll probably end up playing it, though. It's rare that I can resist a new Adventure game.

I've been looking forward to this one. I don't believe it's that much of an adventure and there's no dialogue from what I understand. It's taking the 'meat' of adventure games, ie, puzzles, and stringing them together one after the other. Basically a puzzle lovers paradise.

While looking at the kheops website about this game, they have temp titled their other adventure game.
"Cap sur l'Ile au Trésor ( english title to be defined...) ( 2006 ) Coming soon... " Dictionary.com translates it : " Cape on the Island with the Treasury " |

"Toward Treasure Island" would be more accurate (and yes, it's a reference to Stevenson's book).

On the abandonware site Home of the Underdogs, I found a cool old game about planning burglaries..a text adventure that took a lot of planning and knowledge of art. Im sure they are not related, but it made me think of it.

Update: It's officially out in the states. Some people at gameboomers bought it from best buy stores, and a member here called Dangerzone posted in the hints forum and he also just bought safecracker yesterday. He said this and posted some pics.
"the game package is rather unique...................it is a metal tin with a window in it so you can see the disc inside the case, and the disc itself looks like a combination dial from a safe, there is also no paper manual with the game...............it is a pdf on the disc " |
