Default What`s the news on Metronome?

Does anyone know how this game is holding up? Is it even in full production?

I`ll say it`s a real shame if this game doesn`t get to the shelves. I`m really looking forward to it, and I guess I`m not alone.

They can't find money to fund it, plain and simple.

You'd think someone like the Adventure Company would look at Metronome screenshots and jump at a chance to inject some money.

My theory is that the game is too 'progressive' and experimental for TAC. How do you market that kind of game, particularly when it's also designed for a next gen console like the Xbox360?

So it`s not currently in production?

Do they have anything at all besides the screenshots and movie we`ve seen?

I'd say it's too expensive for TAC, it has the makings of an AAA title. It will would be sad to see it go down without a fight.

Than again, maybe I'm just underestimating TAC.

Exactly. I don't think TAC has a generous enough budget to fund it. Makes me wonder if they've talked to Atari already.

Atari is the last company to be interested in an original IP right now. Maybe LucasArts?

Somebody correct if I'm wrong, but it is my understanding the TAC almost never funds the development, as opposed to buying off the rights to an already-made game. Project Jane-J (*sigh* ), and now the Agatha Christie games, are among the few exceptions.

It's not like they have been ignoring more unique games in the past - they've published both The Sleeping Dragon and Missing in the US.

Jack may be more in a position to answer that question, AFG, but it may help to look at the games they've put out in the past several years to see if there's a pattern.

Yes, but who's providing the money and have they found a publisher yet? There hasn't yet been any kind of official announcement.

What makes you guys think Metronome is a game The Adventure Company would be interested in?

It's nothing like the types of games TAC is known for publishing.

For all we know, those screens might be from that same old build. They sure look like it.

Those new "screenshots" (ie. the first 3, the others we've seen before) look like concept art to me.

Iceadventure, Team Tarsier definitely must be doing something , but the production won't get into full swing until they secure a funding.

i am suprised they have not found a publisher. The game looks incredible. The artistic styling is staggering, and the concept sounds very innovative. The only problem i see with the game is that it is clearly designed for next gen, which may leave a lot of adventure gamers without the capability to play it...

< shrugs > Well, that's the reality of progress, isn't it? Remember when Myst first came out on cd-rom? People were bitchy because they had to upgrade their hardware.

The guy who does the music for the game did Tomb Raider Legend, I wonder if Legend was a flop. Cause if it wasn't, surely the music guy would have pointed Core in the direction of Metronome.
