Adventure Game Scene Of The Day - Wednesday June 21st.
It's my birthday today, therefore I'm grabbing this one.
Quite possibly my least favourite puzzle in any game. Ever. Quite an attractive visual, however...

Post Mortem for those that don't know.
I liked the game but the way they had the dialogue trees set up was awful. |

I *hated* this game, but made through it for some masochistic reasons. I agree that the pictured puzzle was quite possibly the worst of the worst parts. Invisible pixel hunting for teh win!

Another non-fan here, for much the same reason as Melanie68 said. I must be weird, because I never found a dialogue response that felt right. So much of the game was spent dissecting each choice and trying to guess what the repercusions of each answer or question would be. Certainly took all the sponteneity out of the dialogue, and made it a chore.

I was simply stuck. I had no idea what to do or where to go. Nobody had any new dialogue options and all the possible puzzles had been solved. I turned to a walkthrough, but according to the walkthrough I had done everything that was needed to continue on to the painting-puzzle. Only problem was I couldn't interact with the painting or the candle... nothing worked!

I must say that I did more or less 'enjoy' the game. It was very flawed but if you kept the UHS hint file next to you while playing, you could at least avoid most of the frustration.

Agree that the dialog was tedious at times. But it was a nifty way to offer two separate playing options. I also agree that the puzzle in question was awful. I finally had to have a fellow player send me a screen shot so I could find the final piece.

I have to admit I'm in the minority - I absolutely loved the game to death, although admittedly it did grate on my nerves once or twice.
I quite enjoyed the dialogue trees too, despite the fact that they were often poorly implemented - therefore Gus would often get the chance to ask another character about things I hadn't yet encountered. On my first playthrough, for example, Gus took it upon himself to ask Sophia Blake about Spoiler:far too early. I didn't have the faintest idea what the guy was yammering on about.
