Adventure Games for Kids
 

hi

my 4 yr old grand daughter loves playing about on my pc, and we'vew had a good go at the dora type adventures (she cant read yet so spoken words are vital). are there any other adventure with spoken words that members could recommend? some of the underground ones look good, but all have written text.

Try the Pajama Sam, Freddi Fish and Putt Putt series they're great fun, and I've never seen a kid not enjoy them. :D

If you can find them, she might like Mixed-Up Mother Goose and Mixed-Up Fairy Tales by Sierra. These are oldies, but I at least know that Mother Goose was rereleased on CD (not sure about Fairy Tales). You might be able to get it off eBay.

My daughter is 5 and she really loves scooby doo. I do have to play with her as some of the mysteries are hard, but they are enjoyable enough that I dont mind. Also not an adventure game per se but she also loves littlefoot.

well maybe you can try the Bone games? that may be a little too advanced though.....i've never actually played them but they do seem like games for little kids.

I second Putt Putt, Fatty Bear, Pajama Sam, and Freddi Fish games. I used to play them when I was little. They're all very well made.

Little known fact - Dave Grossman (of Monkey Island / Day of the Tentacle fame and now at Telltale) worked on Pajama Sam 1-3 and Freddi Fish 4. :)

I think the Bone games are going to be too difficult for a four year old. There's some reading involved and in general the games will probably go over her head. But you might be able to play them together... she still might enjoy moving the characters around and the funny animations.

couldn't agree more on putt-putt, freddi and fatty bear. didn't like pajama sam very much, though.

I have an almost 5 year old niece and the next time I go home to visit, I'm bringing my laptop. Both Bone games are on there and I'll try and play them with her. It'll be interesting to see how she likes them.:)

Eco Quest

My son, who is almost 5, loves Putt Putt. He also loves Ollo, and Moop and Dreadly for adventure type games. For a little more educational, you could try any of the Clifford games, Jump Start games or Reader Rabbit. They are all popular around here also.
