Default Cassius Pearl announced

From Adventure Europe:

A number of developers working for big French developing companies like Ubisoft, Eden Studios, Arkane Sudio, Stormfront, and Pam Developement have formed a new company called Krysalide. They are currently working on a point and click adventure called Cassius Pearl for the PC. They have created their own engine for the game. The graphics are 3D as you can see in the screenshots and they have a distinctive French feel to them. The story is a comedy and there are many references to well known movies. The development is 50% completed and they are currently looking publishers. We will have more news on this title soon. In the meanwhile feel free to check out some of the 11 screenshots of the game in the gallery.

Looks like fun! Sort of an abstract world, which is a breath of fresh air between all the realism nowadays.

Uhm, i love the graphics, but it's kinda wierd. I can't really make an impression from a few screenshots. I'll keep an eye on this game.

That looks very interesting. It reminds me of a game I played a few years ago.
Something about 2 stupid Aliens.

Yes, it does look a bit like UFOs! Made me think of that one as well.

Comedy adventure?
Movie references?
Cartoon graphics?

Bring it on!

wooow! I haven't been this impressed by some 3d graphics from a game for a long time! Very special and very different.. finally something that doesn't look like it was made using a cloning tool.
Looking forward to learn more about this one

Igor, weren't you working on a cartoon adventure? I remember how amazing the screenshots looked.

Ooh, lovely. Kinda reminds me of DOTT, with all the funky colours and angles. Let's hope the gameplay is in a similar league!

A nice little interview here at Gamasutra.

Quote:
GS: So is this totally finished?

NM: No, it’s about 60% finished.

...

(The character enters the bar)

Ah – the bar is one of my favorite locations, it’s so cute.

GS: Yeah, I saw that there’s a guy sitting next to a bar of wood. with lipstick on it.

NM: Yes-that’s his wife.
Sounds promising. Very promising.

They are doing a port for the DS as well which might be cool.

I also laughed at this part of the Gamasutra interview

Quote:
NM: Basically it runs at a lower level than any modern FPS. It’s designed to run on low-end PCs.

GS: Yeah, I think that’s necessary for the average adventure game player. They don’t tend to upgrade much.

Igor, you're way too talented.
How come you're not rich and famous is beyond me.

Then again, maybe you are and we just don't know it.
