Happy Friday Everyone

I think the room in this screen looks almost identically famliar to the upstairs lab area of the police station in Still Life Same camera view, same doors positioning and hallway design. Hmmm

Oooh, oooh, I know this game...can't remember the name though, its pretty recent. I never did beat it now that I think about it...gotta see if I can find it. What was it called? Might help in my searching.

Yes, I did think it was Still Life at first...

So what is it? From the mn.jgp, I'd venture Midnight Nowhere...

It looks very realistic! Are scenes like that made out of real pictures?

Nah it's all 3d. That's actually more of a simple scene for an experience static scene designer.

Hey, I thought Midnight Nowhere was great because it was gory and had polygonal nudity....errr...I mean...it had a deep story...yeah.

Also, if I remember right, it had *terrible* translation. At times the guy would say things that made absolutely no sense or had no bearing or relavence. Gotta love those whacky Germans.

Not to nit-pick but MN is of Russian descent. I have yet to find the time to delve into this one. Looks good and the story is interesting enough but ya', from the little I've heard, the translation is terrible.

You're right, it was Russian. Well I still hold to my point. Germans are wHaCkY!

No, no, no. I´ve said it before: Germans are nudists.

But that´s really out of topic.

Yes, indeed they are. But the majority is in the area that used to be the DDR (German Democratic Republic), because that's where it originated, apparently.

I always found it kind of ironic that the DDR had so many restrictions, and things , and yet Nudists were a very large subculture that seems to have been accepted without much criticism. (Correct me if I am wrong, please. I was born in 1987, so I might not be completely up to date on anything relating to the DDR.

On a side note, I prefer to just talk of "Germany" as a whole. I think it's stupid to make a to much of a difference between what used to be what, now that it is one. There should not be "Former East Germany" and "West Germany", because now there should only be mention of "Germany". I don't know if this makes sense in english (it's a lot easier to explain in German), but I know people that agree. Basically people should not be judged by the area they come from, but for the person they are.

Is there still a lot of mention of former East and West Germany within Germany itself?

But more often than not, the area where they originate from had influence on their personnality.

Yes, there is, since there is quite a difference still. I mean, Jazhara is completely right, one shouldn't make a difference, since there was a reunion, but there are factors making it sometimes hard to avoid mentioning (former) East and West Germany, for example the unemployment rate of the (former) East/newly-formed German states (probably the term used for 'political correctness') is by far higher than in the West. And in the news, you encounter this difference also, sometimes.
Though I never lived to experience the DDR, meaning I was born after the fall of the wall.
Oh, and I forgot to mention: Sometimes as a joke, sometimes as genuine (and stupid) antagonism, Germans themselves speak of West and East Germans ('Wessis' and 'Ossis').

(by the way - and with this I mean back to the actual topic: What about the story of the game? In reviews, I never really heard a lot about it, more about all the corpses and blood and nudity and insanity.)

The story of Midnight Nowhere had a lot going for it but I'm really not convinced about how they followed through with it.

It was alsso pretty gory so if you're put off by that sort of thing this is not the game for you.

Nice scene though. From the opening hospital section. They defiinitely did a good job on the look of the game.
