Keregioz got it.

I guess I'm not really surprised nobody genuinely recognized it. It's from the Cave section in between the Circus and Mansion chapters, and from what I've read of most comments on the game, nobody ever bothers to play past the second chapter, Innocent Abandoned. (I was gonna post the song to that chapter today if nobody got it... it has the game's main theme motif in it more recognizably.)

Anyhoo.

I have no idea on outside file uploading, but anyone using a MIDI file I'm thinking could maybe just zip it and attach it to their post, since MIDIs are usually really tiny.

Peace & Luv, Liz

I feel so dumb. I've actually extracted the music from this game, and it's been on my hard drive for years. And I didn't recognise it.

If you upload a .mid file you should probably make sure that it does not give away any info in the track names. Same goes for .ogg and .mp3 id tags.

While we're waiting on upload issues for others, here's another one.

I played it all the way through. I think it was worth perseveiing with. Long time ago though which would explain why I didn't recognise the music

This recent thread on file hosting solutions might help

I keep meaning to say what a nice way to end posts this is. Peace and Luv to too.

It's a monkey island tune. Is it the fairground in MI2 when Guybrush is transformed into a child?

There's a small story behind it, which I shan't post here to avoid straying too far OT, but suffice it to say that I've been using it since sixth grade, I do genuinely mean it, and it has nothing to do with rock n' roll.

Peace & Luv, Liz

I think it's actually from Monkey Island 1, at the Fettucini brothers circus tent. Near the end of the midi, you can even hear the cannon blast going off. I'm more used to hearing the CD-ROM version, though.

Mares:

Er... Keregioz already got mine. It's from "The Cave" in Sanitarium.

THAT'S what that explosive noise is. I was just thinking it was a fairground sort of sound but I should have remembered the circus.

Ah well. At least I got the right series.
