It sure does! It's pirate_chest_open.ogg on the disk.

I actually thought it was almost too obvious.

Either way, I didn't think that this demo was too bad. If it gets a good review then I may well go for this.
I thought the demo was ok, more of a graphics showcase if you ask me. Pitty it wont be released in a collectors edition with 100 floppy disks and a nice thic manual with stickers, posters, postcards, strategy guide, artwork and a keyring.

Or is that just wishful thinking? lol.

When you put it like that, it is obvious, though quite why I need to
Spoiler:
cover up the fact that the arm is fake
if the croc goes for arms anyway is beyond my understanding.

I like your explanation, though .

Ok I feel really dumb. It is extremely obvious that the croc wants an arm, but I don't know exactly how to give him one. I got the stuff out of the chest and I see the arm on the ground, yet you can't pick it up or combine anything with it. I've tried combining pretty much everything with other things in the environment.

Can anybody help? I'm having a brain freeze.

It has to be a specific arm.
Spoiler:
It's the other arm of the statue, hidden beneath the planks.

You can then combine something you've got with that arm.

System requirements:

Processor 1,5 GHz Min
Graphics Card Gforce 3 Min
Win 98 / 2000 / Me / XP with Direct X 9.0c
256 MB RAM Min
I exceed this and it runs poorly....even in 800x600. The cursor is very sluggish, and the framerate is not that great. It's probably some kind of bottleneck with the shaders or some other problem with my card. 5200s aren't very shaders friendly from what I hear, but I wouldn't think it'd be this poor.

Thats just silly... Why would a croc exclusively go for arms? lol And if a croc saw a walking human underwater he would of goobled him up by now instead of just grunting at the main character.

Same with me, the cursor is extremely sluglish. And the animations also have a few slo motion moments. But nothing too serious.

Nothing said it only ate the arms :p
The croc just prefers arms and likes to eat them first
Im not to sure but dont crocs just sit still blending into their surroundings untill their prey comes to them?

Yeah, and what were they thinking with this bowl on his head - he should suffocate in no time! And a Hawaiian shirt - in Ancient Egypt? This game seriously lacks research.

As Dale noted above, the croc didn't eat the statue's missing arm - that's the one you pick up.

My line of thinking was the same as Fov's. I really liked the way this puzzle was set - if a game has more of this type along the way (though preferrably more difficult ones) I think I'll like it.

I'll just quote you.

I guess small projects like these don't have the budgets to go overseas for inspiration like bigger companies.

I realized today that the hardware acceleration on my sound was all the way down. (I turned it down for another game and forgot to turn it back up.) That's possibly why I was having sound problems with the Ankh demo... but I already uninstalled it and deleted it, so I'm not positive.

Well, I really don't have any idea why the game runs sluggish on my computer, even at the menu.

2.8 Ghz
Geforce FX 5500 card with 256 MB
512 RAM

Maybe it's some inherent problem with the game engine, don't know. Either way, it's funny, reminded somehow of EFMI. It was just way too short to judge the game. I may get it if it gets good reviews.

Inspired in me a distinct feeling of neutrality. Visual style's nice, puzzles are ok, first scene has a wealth of hotspots; interface is awkward, second scene's way too sparse, some of the voice acting isn't the best, cutscene has clumsy timing... more investigation needed.

I saw that the french demo is out. I am wondering if it can be changed like the german one into english. That would be quite funny.

For what it's worth, the proper English demo is now available. (One mirror)

Exactly the same as the German one, but without the needed tweak for English.
