Default Patricia Highsmith -- Ripley fame

I realize Particia Highsmith isn't as famous as an Agatha Christie, but I'd dearly love to see some of her novels turned into games. If they're done well, that is.

Her work includes The Talented Mr. Ripley, Strangers On A Train (turned into a great film by Hitchcock), The Blunderer, Cry Of The Owl, This Sweet Sickness, to name a few.

Anyone familiar with her work?

I remember strangers on the train, never seen it all the way through but i do remember the guy with the rubber arm who manages to get his arm deeper and deeper into the drain without actualy puting more than his wrist in

it also got made into a spoof didnt it? "Trow momma off the train" or something

Highsmith is one of my favorite writers of all time. The Talented Mr. Ripley is both an amazing book and a terrific movie. The rest of the Ripley novels are good, but not as good as the first. Ripley's Game, the movie, with John Malkovich as Tom is a great movie too, if a slightly different take on the character.

Highsmith also has some great collections of short stories which are tremendously fun as well. She was a very wry, clever author. She will be missed. Good thing her legacy lives on in her many many great books.

I loved Ripley's Game, too. I'd consider it on par with Ripley's first outing, actually. I do think Ripley Under Water could have been far more compelling, though.

She's a fantastic writer - it would be nice to see something of her cynicism and darkness in a game
