Adventure Games You Felt Cool Playing
Cool. That's right. Ice cold. Suave as hell. Slicker than Arnie's hair gel. What Adventure games were imbued with that "Z" factor that made you feel so very awesome you wanted to show your friends and family exactly what you were playing?
For me, it was Blade Runner. Oh, and excuse my blatant over-the-topness. |

Farenheit. Then I turned my radiator on, and felt much better.

Hmmm, though I did absolutely love playing it and wanted my friends and family to see how great it was, I never considered myself 'cool' for playing Gabriel Knight 3. At one time I did try showing Silent Hill off to my sister and her kids and all she said was, "Wow, that looks so realistic. Nice shadows." Not much different from any one else who wouldn't care at all for video games.
As far as feeling quite 'cool', the only games I think of are Deus Ex, Thief: TDP, Splinter Cell series, Wipeout 3, and now Indigo Prophecy. But no one I know or am related to would be able to appreciate how 'cool' these games are. To them they're just......video games.

I suppose the likes of NFS: Underground are games you feel cool playing. I know that a lot of my jock friends consider the Underground skateboarding and racing games "cool". But very few find adventure titles pulsating. Ice cold. Suave.

I felt reasonably cool playing Red Faction on the stupidly easy setting .
As for adventure games, I can't think of any off-hand. |

Red Faction?! I wouldn't show that to a rabid Star Wars fanatic.

Max Payne and Max Payne 2 was definitely another 'cool' one for me to play. But naturally, show it to others and they'll simply dismiss it as just another video game. "Wow, it looks just like a movie," they'll say, and then they'll leave the room.

I felt cool when I played Jones in the fast lane at a friend's place in the 90's.

Full Throttle, which I just recently played for the first time (bought myself a copy on Ebay).
It just feels so cool being a badass (i.e. pushing people around and kicking down doors). EDIT: I'll add Indigo Prophecy to the list. Last edited by Legolas813; 09-24-2005 at 05:16 PM. |

I don't really feel "cool" playing adventure games.

I felt cool playing Death Gate and Superhero League of Hoboken (both from Legend). Can't explain why. Just felt cool playing them.
