I was just wondering why Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert were that much getting the love among adventure addicts, and nobody ever praises Dave Grossman!

Hell, he's the common factor between Tim and Ron's games!
And this makes me very excited about Bone

Because he's neither grumpy nor does he have a church worshiping him as god.

...or may be because Dave was always perceived as a sidekick

I met Dave when Doug and I visited Telltale a few months ago. He seemed like a really nice guy. (I'll admit I didn't really know who he was... but then again, I don't really know who most LucasArts people are. )

He has written some very funny blog entries for Telltale's site.

I think it's because Dave's kind of freelance. Tim stayed at LucasArts, Dave left and did some work with Ron and did some writing and various other projects.

And how about Brian Moriarty?! He's got a church, and still people don't talk about him a lot!

Behold the almighty Brian, the great creator of the pattern.

Behold your Lord!

Brian Moriarty was a great Implementor and he has been one of my heroes since Wishbringer and the Coconut of Quendor. But... a church? What do you mean?

I had no idea he skipped over to Telltale too. How can they go wrong?

By making a decent game that not much people buy?

It's a grim scenario I know, but very possible.

Psst. Don't tell the heathens, but Adventure Gamers is actually a facade for the headquarters of my world empire. But that's just the beginning. One of the reasons why nobody can remember how they found AGs is so that nobody can tell our secret plan to take over their churches (don't try to figure out how that logically works. You will only end up with a headache)...that, or I will finish my website for LOOM before that, and will build a shrine there.

A SHRINE! Sheesh, you make it sound like our Professor Moriarty is already dead... we should do a Where-Are-They-Now on him.

But here's a little something for your shrine. I think I've posted this before, never mind, it's one of the most satisfying articles about games I've read. It has a beginning and an end and everything comes together. He's a great storyteller.

At least the digital distribution method makes it more likely for them to make another game.

Ron was a lead designer on Last Crusade, Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island 1 and 2

Tim was lead designer on Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, and co-lead on Day of the Tentacle.

Dave was co-lead on Day of the Tentacle

That's pretty much why the fans segment it that way. Even though Dave Grossman was a writer and game designer on many of the old adventures he was a project lead on very few.

Grossman gets his name on the cover as lead developer. I didnt know he split duties. I sure would like to see them make an old LA style comedy game. As interested in Bone as I am I just dont see it being something that will make me wake up early just to play like the old Lucas Arts games.

I would love to see a pure comedy. Can you imagine how good a Game like Gilbert Goodmate could be if thses guys made it? I fear Telltale will spend more of an emphasis on apealing to the modern gamer rather than making as good a game as they can.

What indication is there that they're appealing the "modern gamer?" Because it's 3D? Anyway, Bone's not some technical marvel, but should a game really be ignored for not going backwards in regards to technology?

I guess in my mind I have a hard time accepting 3D games. But from what I see it looks to me like they spend a little too much time being cute instead of being a little daring. Also the screenshots seem a little empty. By that I mean they have the character but not much background. Maybe it's just the Bone license that I'm not excited about. Oh well, I will play it and hope to be suprised.

Not sure what your particular interpretations of "cute" and "daring" are, but the visual style is very much in sync with that of the comic. Maybe you just don't like the comic's style.

Like I said, it very well may be the Bone license that doesnt captivate me. I like Swordmasters, Meathooks and sarcastic, upright standing rabbits.
