How Many People, That You Know Personaly, Play Adventure Games?
Me: One. And the only games he's played are Monkey Island 1 & 4, which I introduced to him... and gave him all the solutions.

In the old days of Sierra and Lucasarts, 6 or 7 of my classmates and close friends used to play adventure games, and they are the ones who introduced me to the genre, when they were discussing solutions to Day of the tentacle in our lunch break.
Now, I really doubt I know anyone outside this community here that plays adventure games.

My best friend used to play them, but not recently.
He was a big fan of Blade Runner and the Tex Murphy games.

I have a wealth of classmates who're into adventuregames. I guess that's what you get when you take a course in animation. A few of them even banded together to make an animation completely in the style of the old Lucasarts adventures last year. Awesome stuff.

This thread doesn't have much to do with adventure games, really. Why move it?

All my friends who play games play adventures, among other genres.
Now people who play adventures exclusively, I know nobody like that. Thank god

Me, my sister, my cousin (although not recently. He's grown up, and has children now. But he still got his original Monkey Island games, up to CMI. And he asked me about MI 4, when he saw it on my table. He didn't know they were still making them), a friend of our family (it's at his place where I played all the old Sierra games, even though I didn't really speak english back then).
Also, a friend of mine plays Adventure games. -

I have one friend that has played a handful of adventures, but the last time she played was a year ago.

Hmmm... Four, I do believe. Though two of them only really play adventure games that I suggest. One of them is my ex, who was addicted to the Myst games (Not my cup of tea, but it counts). The other is one of my really good friends since Grade 1 (12 years ago now). He and I became friends because of Space Quest, haha.

Zero that have played them. Maybe 1 or 2 that have actually heard of them.

My very good friend has played Broken Sword I and II, and has helped me played through Escape From Monkey Island and Monkey I, and we both found it hilarious the whole way through. He also has a sister that owns many of the Nacy Drew games and he's played all of them.

None of my friends like adventure games - they're more into console gaming (mainly Metal Gear Solid and GTA), and a couple like to play Warcraft. They think that adventure games are for nerds and loners, and that the only games worth playing are those that allow you all to sit on the floor around the tv with beer and snacks.
I sometimes wonder how these people became my friends |

At least you have someone to discuss games with - my best friends are mostly girls who aren't into games at all |

Hehe! No way - I've always got on with girls a lot more than boys, but sometimes its nice to talk to people who aren't just interested in shopping, music and sex - maybe that's why I joined Adventure Gamers? Oh.... that's pretty much what we all talk about anyway, isnt it |
