Default Kinky Island (funding) and other S7 news

Now in development is the full game version of Kinky Island, a personal project that took off many years ago but never looked like it would progress beyond a demo. However, some superb talented artists recently joined the team and are helping me create a retro styled 2D adventure game. I'd like to make you aware of the IndieGoGo funding thingy, and would like to offer you the chance to pledge. By doing so, you'll get a free copy of the game when we finish up sometime in 2013. But hurry! The campaign ends very soon.

If you've not heard of Screen 7, we are behind various point & click adventure games (including music for Yahtzee games) and within the next couple of months are moving up from just freeware games to commercial titles.

You probably haven't heard of "Summerbatch", which is coming very soon and is a collection of original new point & click games from AGS developers. You'll be able to pay what you want to support the developers of the games, and the collection (volume 1) includes titles such as Patchwork, Lycoris, Jailbreak and PISS - by well known AGS developer Ben304 Chandler (creator of ~airwave~, Eternally Us and Annie Android).

http://www.summerbatch.co.uk (placeholder for now, until the big s7 website update around June)

There's also a game called Nancy The Happy Whore and the Perfidious Petrol Station by James Dreaden, aka Technocrat who created the known AGS games Technobabylon and recently The Rail...

Screen 7 is also responsible for AdventureX, which in 2011 saw Chris Bateman give a world first talk about Discworld Noir, plus other speeches from game creators including Neil Rennison (GameBook Adventures) and Chris Jones (AGS creator). AdventureX will be back in 2012 with new guests, speeches and masterclasses for those who wish to develop their own games. I'll go into detail about that in this thread in the future...

Finally - one of the most anticipated underground adventure games is under our belt, The Cat Lady. You may have heard of it, it's a horror adventure by Harvester Games, the creator of Downfall, a successful horror adventure game that can still be found for sale at Wadget Eye Games website. The Cat Lady is coded in full, now it's time to add the voices, testing and then...release! Info will soon appear on the website at http://www.thecatlady.co.uk

So although the main aim here is to say, hey, please help fund Kinky Island before the campaign ends, I wanted you to know about all the other things we're doing.

It doesn't quite end there. We're also helping and developing another anticipated game called A Night At Camp Ravenwood (screenshot below), you may have heard about it - a website will be up very soon, and Micheal has been working hard on the story and art. He's so good at the art in fact, it's why I asked him to help draw the backgrounds for Kinky Island.

Thanks for reading, and for all your adventure gamery support in the past (and future, hopefully!)

There is one more thing. The Ben Jordan fan-film (number 2) is so very close to being completed, so Screen 7 will also be churning out an adventure game based movie (it's over 70 minutes long, goddamn!) in the next month or so. Just waiting on a few final elements from different contributors - but again people from AG.com contributed to that campaign, so many thanks - it's been a long process but it's winding up... As an upload test (to see whether I would get banned by YouTube again) I put an out of date version of the first 25 mins up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDYich3ei-g

All the best!

Mark L

PS. If you've heard of "Fountain of Youth" I strongly recommend you "like" the Facebook page. Production is rolling smoothly, and we're updating the page with news snippets, screenshots and other thingamabobs constantly... http://www.facebook.com/indyfoy

PPS. Pledging to KI, your email will be retained so you can be sent discounts on all our other games/ventures!

PPPPPPPS. The new Screen 7 website goes online in about a months time... [mockup below]
