But it doesn't have to be almond paste in between, it can also be jelly (usually strawberry). I'm not a huge fan of the almond paste myself (though, mind you, it tastes not so much like almonds but marzipan (which is of course made from almonds, but obviously has a very different taste)). It's okay, but I looove the ones with strawberry jelly in between
Not just in Sweden these
(you know, most things that are a "thing" in Sweden are also so in Finland (or all over Scandinavia), like glögg etc.).
