Deadly Premonition is definitely a realtime adventuregame. Can anyone who actually played both games give us a comparison?

As for the "bizzare atmosphere", I think it's perfectly balanced with the rest of the game which feels very belivable and real. The weird stuff is really out there but with elements from things and people you encounter (very much like dreams). Although I still haven't finished it so there might be more to it.
