Luckily we don't have to memorize actual laws or anything (or, you know, lithanies of text or anything). It's more about the governing principles and knowing what is applicable and all that. The law texts are available in law collections which are almost always allowed in exams.
And of course, law on TV is worlds apart from law in reality
