Well, I'm not aware of any of the classic ones using the word "squat" in that sense but otherwise.

Howard Phillips was a sceptic, determined to prove the superstitious wrong. When he came across stories of the Mountains of Madness, an area of the frozen north from which few had returned, it seemed an ideal subject for him. Gathering like-minded individuals, he set out to show that the "
Ice Scream", a hideous sound emanating from that locale rumoured to drove men mad, was naught but hysteria. As his expedition lay in
bed in their first night at camp, an unearthly
mauve glow suffused the area. Sure that one of his rivals was seeking to discredit him, Phillips set out alone in the dead of night to trace the source of the glow. No-one knows what happened to him that night, but he was found by his team-mates the next morning, stiff with catatonia and bearing an expression of absolute terror. He now spends his days being fed by a tube with his wastes removed by a
catheter.
