^ As an April Fool's prank, spread word on TV and radio about a phony city bylaw that anyone who still had their Christmas lights up as of April 1st would be fined $250, and set up a fake hotline phone number where people could get a 5% rebate on their property taxes if they ratted out their neighbours who failed to comply with the new bylaw.  (A local radio station pulled this prank in my city!  )
