About Gabriel Knight, if I recall correctly,
Spoiler:if you don't set up the items for Mosely to follow Gabriel to the hounfour, during the ritual, Grace fights Dr. John and gets killed, and then Dr. John chokes Gabe. It's not an alternate ending, just a "you dun goofed" restore/quit/restart Death Screen.
