They are my absolute biggest pet hate in Lucas Arts clones (ie third-person, 'talkie' adventure games).

Non player character: "Hey there. You must do all of my laundry for me before I will lift a finger to help you save the world and hence my own sorry ass."

Player character: "Sure, that sounds reasonable. Wheare is your laundry?"

NPC: "In those caves over there"

PC: "But how do I get in there? there's a big boulder over the entrance."

NPC: "Just try everything in your inventory on it; that should do the trick"

PC: No problem, I look forward to it"
