I've been playing Crackdown 2 for past week and while I've had some fun with it, I don't really get the crazed love for the series that a lot of people seem to have. There's no real structure to the single player or co-op so it's basically one big open, empty sandbox where you can do one of two missions: activate beacons and fight easy-to-beat zombies or attack an enemy stronghold and take it over. That's the entirety of the single player and co-op campaign. Collecting the orbs which increase your stats is the best part of the game and simply running around and climbing up buildings to get the green agility orbs is by far the most fun I had with the game. In a year that has already had open world sandboxes like Just Cause 2 and Red Dead Redemption, Crackdown 2 feels a little empty and bland in comparison.
