i can understand your point of view, and i've had the same opinion before i got into the fanadventure scene.
i know, there are a lot of horrible fan adventures out there. i've played almost all of them (at least the more popular, bigger ones, not every single small one).

but that's not generally the case.
zak mckracken: between time and space and baphomets fluch 2.5 are great games in general, altough they are fan made.
the only difference between fanmade and commercial games is, that people don't get payed for their job.
but anyway, there are definitely semi-professional people out there, who really attach importance to create a game which also has a very nice look and a lot of creativity in it, without getting money for doing that.

edit: sorry, i meant the english title "broken sword" instead of the german "baphomets fluch".
