That Lindqvist (who wrote Let the Right One In) was greatly inspired by Anne Rice is pretty obvious. The main difference is that Lindqvist mixes true realism with traditional horror elements where Rice do the opposite and writes extremely pompous about the traditional legend. Both are favourites of mine though.
