If it works for ZGI, then cool. I used
CPU Killer. It's a shareware program that's free for the first 30 days. I believe there are some other slowdown programs too. That really helped with Zork Nemesis. Not only the panning, but there's a part in the game where you have to go a certain place and if it isn't slowed down, you'll never get there.
I'll have to take a look and find some links for other slowdown programs.
