The Shadow was a underrated 1994 movie with Alec Baldwin and Penelope Ann Miller directed by the guy who did Highlander.

I'm assuming you meant to say "The Spirit" which was the Sin City style Frank Miller film. I've never seen it asn it got panned by the critics.
