Spoiler:Yeah, i know. It did seem to cause a bit of confusion amongst some viewers on these message boards i've checked. It's a pity there wasn't some disturbing image/flashback explaining it when she says to Oskar 'be me a little'. Instead all you saw was a glimpse on an older man or woman. It explained it pretty clearly in the book.
