I watched Transformers when I heard it was written by the Alias guys. I liked its take on the material (which I wasn't familiar with before), embracing the goofiness while grounding the story somewhat with live-action clichés. But wow was it ever-so-much longer than it should have been. The plot was really really simple, and it's two hours and twenty minutes! Also, the entire third act was just a mess. There was so much chaos in each frame, such quick cuts from moment to moment, so many characters that look almost exactly the same, that I found it hard to ever follow what was going on. And that dragged on for 45 minutes. I'd like a sequel if they could tone it down by a lot.
