I recently saw Ober, a Dutch movie about a waiter who has a shitty life. When it gets really bad he visits the guy who writes the story to ask him if there could be just a little bit of fun in his life, please? The author gives in, but he also changes another aspect of the waiter's life, and makes it a bit more shitty in another respect. So the waiter visits him again. This happens a few times more, and also other characters visit the author to complain about the plot and their roles in it. Of course the author gets really annoyed by this, and the end is predictable, unfortunately.
