Usually in older music. Mozart's Requiem is a great example of a piece featuring the
Kyrie lyrics. (Meaning "Lord, have mercy.")
Why would one sing it? Because it's great stuff!

While I like Gospel, there's plenty of soul in the aforementioned music, too.
