I saw Persepolis today, a story of a girl growing up in Iran in the 1970s-1980s. I really recommend it. It was an amazingly beautiful, sad story that made me want to get the graphic novels as well. I had also been mostly oblivious to what had happened in Iran. The great terrible wars of my childhood were wars in Bosnia and Kosovo.
