Tom Hanks completely destroyed the War of the Worlds for me. It wasn't about an invasion from space, it was about a family father trying to get his family in safety before the invasion was successfull.
My bet is that the political themes of Ray Bradbury's books will be turned down, and the love interests in the book, if any, will be turned up quite a bit.
I'm sorry to be so harsh about ol' Tom, but I don't see him as the perfect man fighting for freedom...
