Um... yes. It's not that this is a particularly bad film, but the change in tone from the Burton/Keaton installments is slightly jarring.
From Hell
Disappointing. I don't know if it would have involved modifying the story further from the graphic novel, and frankly I don't care: if you're going to make a thriller about Jack the Ripper, and you want to keep his identity a secret, don't pick an actor with a really distinctive voice and then have a whole load of scenes of him talking in shadow. Basic mistake, and it ruined the thing.
