I recently watched La Haine.
It woudl be fair to say it's not the most cheery of stories (though it does have it's moments of dark humour) Fascinating though. Shot in colour and printed on black and white. The DVD I watched it on had original (colour) rushes of some scenes in the extras. It's amazing how much more powerful the scenes were when in black and white. The colour took some of the bleakness of the storyline away.
