Sounds a little like the stuff we recorded as kids: We recorded our chit chat utilizing high-tech 386 computers and Windows 3.11 and cheapo microphones bought with our precious pocket money and let it play backwards.
That was way back before good audio compression was available, and hard disk space in general was pretty hard hard to come by...
