Well, of course they're huge. They're hares, not rabbits.
The European hare gets even larger. While the black-tailed jackrabbit reaches a size of up to 60 cm, the European Hare ranges between 50-70 cm.
Personally, I've even seen huge domestic rabbits. The ones you usually see are dwarf breeds, but a friend of mine has one which I believe must have actually been one of those bred for meat usually. He was *huge*. He was larger than a cat. And I'm talking about a large cat.
