Just finished it.
In short, quite good game, terrible ending, albeit quite sad.
I was actually expecting
Spoiler: to see an angel of darkness skeleton with wings flying around at the end spitting fireballs or something.
Yes, this broken sword does seem to have been rushed and will never be a classic.
