I've watched a few movies lately.
In the theatres, I saw Pan's Labyrinth and The Queen. Both very different but excellent nonetheless.
I saw 4 DVD movies this weekend. Nightwatch was all I hoped it would be. I knew it had received good reviews, and I wasn't disappoiinted. Prairie Home Companion was a bit of a mishmash. I usually love Altman films, but this one seemed really disjointed. Having an angel of death as one of the characters seemed out of place, and a little creepy given that he died after this was made. Little Miss Sunshine was a joy. Even though it followed a typical dysfunctional family plot (everyone hates each other, tragedy brings them all together, etc.) it still had some freshness. The last film I saw was Mistress of Spices; unfortunately entirely forgettable.
