Actually, that's exactly what happened. The company went out of business right around the time Still Life came out. I'm glad they were able to release the game at all, but it seems it would have been a very different game if they'd had the funds to finish it as they intended.

For a whodunnit, I really liked And Then There Were None. A bit rough around the edges, but very suspenseful and of course the story is great.

If you haven't played the Gabriel Knight games, you should absolutely try those. The Beast Within is my favorite. It's easily as well written as Still Life, but doesn't leave you with that incomplete feeling.
