It's not Mr. Lewis that inspired the song,
But the writer of "Danny" and "Charlie" and "James"
The writer whose nonsense got many acclaims.
For the inspiration for the poem, truth be told
Was my other favorite, Mr. Roald.
Okay, so I don't rhyme quite as well as he.
But the jump of the rhythm is quite plain to see.
