I wrote it, because recent games in market has very detailed graphic, including some horror ones, as [Silent Hill 3] in PS2. People could think different from what I thought, anyway tension & atmosphere was very good, even if that graphic quality can't be compared to some updated commercial video games.
Well, in that respect you're right. You can't compare amateur game graphics to commercial graphics. Amateur game makers don't have the time, money or resources that the big companies have, but it has nothing to do with the engine. The KQ2 VGA remake, for example, was made with AGS and has graphics on par with Sierra in their heyday.
