Well ipion.com redirects to Havok.com so I guess Ipion was previously havok or something.

Almost.
Valve struck a deal with the small german Ipion Software GmbH in 1999/2000 to license the Ipion physics engine for forthcoming Valve games. Midway 2000 Ipion Software GmbH was bought by Dublin-based rival Havok.com, yet the Ipion code still seems to be used by Valve for Half-Life 2.
I know because I was a team-member of Ipion.
