This weekend I watched Chicago and Garden State. I thought Chicago was fantastic. I have to admit that I'm a sucker for cheesy musicals, so I watched Phantom of the Opera as well, which was just dreck. I mean why even transfer it to the big screen if you're not going to take advantage of the medium your working in. Chicago was much, much better. I liked Garden State, too. It was amusing (although overly conscious of its own quirkiness) and I thought the ending was kind of tired. But still a good rental.
