I remember playing a bit of this game a long, long time ago... never got very far.
This is what UHS has to say (I think it's the same maze you're talking about):
Spoiler:When you start off, go south.
When you arrive at an "intersection" go southwest.
Continue until you arrive at another "intersection". Go up the second tunnel.
Continue until you reach the exit.
